Freespace Dance is a member of Young Audiences of New Jersey, where it serves as a teaching artist in its Assembly/Lecture-Demonstration program. Operating under the Dance to Learn initiative, the company seeks to bring physical education teachers and classroom teachers together with professional dance educators to create a new model for dance arts education. Freespace Dance is available for long-term residency programs that accomplishes the following:
- Get students dancing
- Recruit professional teaching dancers to lead dance classes and mentor physical education teachers
- Provide physical education teachers with professional development and mentorship to integrate dance movement into their classes
- Develop curriculum for dance and physical education teachers that meets or exceeds the Arts NJCCCS with authentic integration into the academic curriculum
