Portrait

Portrait is a piece about group dynamic and interpersonal relationship exploring the roles we play and how we contribute to any given group situation. It is a piece that aligns with the artistic intention of revealing deep-rooted human connections. This piece was made in collaboration with the dancers, allowing them to bring their artistry and personalities to the work.

Elliptical Bodies

This dynamic work is a quartet set to an original techno score by resident composer, Matt Meyer. In their signature style of exciting athletism, this piece is a rich exploration of quality and flavor. Sure to be a crowd pleaser, this work excites the mind and tickles the eye in its complex manipulation of phrasing and partnering.

Trapped in a shadowy down light, a dancer crouches below a spinning iron grid. With a graceful strength, she scales the whirling apparatus, its cold black iron in contrast with her flesh. The music rises, falls, and whirs along with the dancer's spiraling path. At the end of this six minute transcendent aerial solo, the dancer is skewered at the height of her ascent and tumbles back down to where she began.

Butt Rock

The newest work is a fresh wild expression of prolific technique. It is comprised of dynamic movement that literally explodes the stage with gratifying excitement and delight. Sure to be a crowd pleaser, this piece showcases the young fantastic abandonment of the Freespace Dance Company.

Human Walls

Mirroring the boundaries and walls we create as a society and as individuals, "Human Walls" uses pedestrian movement and intricate formations to reveal deep rooted human emotion in this breathtaking, significant work.
